Vibrant Learning is taking place in the SESC region!!
Students in Mr. Will Varner's 5th & 6th grade Social Studies class at Harlan Independent Middle School brought history to life through the “Create Your Own 13th Colony” project! Working in teams, they designed their own colonies—making key decisions about government, economy, location, and survival. Then, through a hands-on simulation, they tested their plans against real-world colonial challenges, such as harsh winters and trade disputes. This engaging project showcases vibrant learning in action—where creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking transform content into meaningful and memorable experiences.
