Join SESC in partnership with KDE for this 3-part learning series on Student Success. This 3 part series is designed to support districts across the state in advancing student success. Sessions are open to all SESC Districts, regardless of where you are in the process of building a local accountability system. The series is open to districts that still need to create a portrait of a learner, as well as districts that are in the implementation phase. Sessions are designed as a cohort experience, with the expectation that participating districts will commit to all three sessions to build momentum and foster ongoing collaboration. #sesccoop #servingyou REGISTER HERE: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L3ge6vezcrWhWs2gglq13YRP0vLAS8sk9i0qFNyxOEQ/edit?usp=sharing

Vibrant Learning is taking place in the SESC region!!

Students in Mr. Will Varner's 5th & 6th grade Social Studies class at Harlan Independent Middle School brought history to life through the “Create Your Own 13th Colony” project! Working in teams, they designed their own colonies—making key decisions about government, economy, location, and survival. Then, through a hands-on simulation, they tested their plans against real-world colonial challenges, such as harsh winters and trade disputes. This engaging project showcases vibrant learning in action—where creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking transform content into meaningful and memorable experiences. Way to bring learning to life, Harlan Ind. Green Dragons!

✨ Partnership in Action!

SESC is proud to partner with Rivet to become a certified High-Quality Instructional Resources (HQIR) Walkthrough Provider.

A huge thank you to Sand Gap Elementary and Oak Grove Elementary for graciously welcoming our team into your classrooms! 🌟

We had the opportunity to observe instruction across grade levels, hear from teacher focus groups, and use KDE’s Instructional Practice Guides to better understand each school’s level of HQIR implementation.

Your commitment to high-quality teaching and learning is inspiring, and we’re grateful to both schools — and to our partners at Rivet — for this collaborative opportunity to strengthen instruction across our region.
