Earlier this month, mental health professionals from our ACCESS districts (Garrard County, Berea Independent, Rockcastle County, and Wayne County) came together for a shared training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
As districts deepen their work with the Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF), their data pointed to a great opportunity: bringing school counselors, FRYSC coordinators, mental health agency clinicians, social workers, and psychologists together around a shared practice as an important step in creating consistent, student-centered Tier 3 supports.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, an evidence-based, future-focused, strengths-based approach, was the perfect place to start. By learning together, districts are enhancing their systems and expanding their shared toolbox with a common modality.
