Winter strikes again! ❄️
Due to inclement weather, tomorrow’s DoSE Network meeting has been cancelled. Because most of our session was planned for in-person participation, safety comes first.

The Apple Accessibility and Guided Hands demonstrations will be rescheduled for a later date for those who would still like to attend. Directors of Special Education will receive a follow-up email with this month’s updates and discussion topics.

Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll see you soon!

Interventions developed from a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) are among the most effective for students with persistent behavioral concerns in schools. In this session, participants will explore the resources developed by the KY Behavior Task Group. The FBA is a problem-solving process for any general or special education student with persistent, severe, or complex behavior challenges. This problem-solving process involves identifying clear, predictive relationships between events in a person’s environment and occurrences of an observable target behavior. Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) is a plan that is based on the results of a functional behavioral assessment (FBA) and, at a minimum, includes a description of the problem behavior, global and specific hypotheses as to why the problem behavior occurs and intervention strategies that include positive behavioral supports and services to address the behavior. Participants will explore all the steps in FBA/BIP. #sesccoop #servingyou
