Join us at SESC for practical de-escalation tips for the classroom. We will begin with prevention and proactive strategies any teacher can put into their daily practices. We will then go through each stage of the escalation cycle and will stop to discuss strategies which can be used in the classroom to break the escalation cycle. This training will be very interactive; teachers will leave with strategies they can immediately take back and implement in their classrooms. Creating a Supportive Classroom Climate is designed to equip teachers and other educators to build a supportive classroom climate in which bullying is less likely to occur. Participants in the workshop will: consider what a positive classroom climate looks like and how it can prevent bullying, examine the role of teacher-to-student and student-to-student relationships in building a supportive classroom climate, explore strategies for preventing bullying in the classroom, including establishing a culture of respect for differences among students, consider how a web of positive support among students and other adults across the school community can help prevent bullying, and identify and commit to using one new strategy for preventing bullying in their daily work with students. #sesccoop #servingyou Register: https://bit.ly/3E3pIxq
